MICE tourism in Japan
I have travelled with Latvian clients, having workshops in local cities in Japan and also took part in Hobby Show at Tokyo big sight in April, 2019.
We have arranged tours incl.workshops and also I joined the tour with the clients as an interpreter.
We had two workshops in city centre and after workshop, we visited Kenroku-en (Japanese Garden), Samurai residence area, Chaya-machi (Old street) and Geisha show. I used to live in Kanazawa 🙂
Osaka is is Japan’s second largest metropolitan area.
Osaka can be reached within 1 hour from Kyoto by several trains connecting various stations in both cities.
In Osaka, we did one workshop and talk show with dinner at a restaurant in business district.Because the restaurant is Finnish restaurant, we enjoyed “western style” dish after a long time.
Osaka is my second or third hometown 🙂
In Kyoto, we had some workshops in cosy, former Japanese residence, which is now a yarn shop.
After workshop, we walked the area (old residence area) and enjoy cherry blossoms.
Also, visited Kinkaku-ji temple, Arashiyama and enjoyed tea ceremony.
Hobby Show in Tokyo
The main reason for visiting Japan this time is to take part in this Hobby Show.
It is the biggest handcraft fair in Japan, which is held in the end of April, every year.
The visitors are from all over the world, we met some Europeans, North and South Americans, and of course our neighbour countries from Korea and China.
I have only data of Hobby Show in 2018.
Exhibitors: 407 exhibitors, 759 stands
and over 100 workshops
Here are some photos of Hobby Show 2019.
